Do you ever feel stuck in your relationships or find yourself repeating patterns that leave you feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, or unsure of how to move forward? You may understand what you want to change but still find yourself responding in familiar ways. I believe these patterns often make sense when we take time to understand where they come from.

My work is grounded in attachment and relational approaches. I enjoy helping clients explore how past experiences, relationships, and beliefs about themselves influence the way they connect with others. Together, we can work toward greater self-understanding, stronger boundaries, healthier communication, and more meaningful relationships.

I bring Master’s degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Special Education, along with over 10 years of experience in trauma and addiction counseling. I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families navigating concerns such as trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship and family challenges, identity, and life transitions. My style is warm, collaborative, and compassionate, and I draw from attachment-based, psychodynamic, strengths-based, mindfulness, somatic, and cognitive-behavioral approaches.

As a biracial therapist with African American and Norwegian heritage, I value the ways culture, identity, and lived experiences shape our relationships and sense of self. I strive to create a space where you can feel seen, understood, and accepted as you are. I also offer therapy in both English and Norwegian.

Grief, trauma, and emotional pain can change the way you see yourself, your relationships, and even the world around you. At the same time, anxiety or depression can make moving forward feel harder than you expected, especially when cultural or family experiences add another layer to what you're carrying. Therapy can give you a place to make sense of it all without having to separate one part of yourself from another. I provide individual therapy in English and Spanish for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors throughout Texas, with both virtual and in person options. My primary areas of focus include anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, and cultural and ethnic concerns, along with stress management when life's demands begin to feel overwhelming. With five years of experience, my goal is to understand your experiences in context, recognize the strengths you already possess, and help you find a path forward that feels meaningful to you.

Sometimes life shifts in ways we do not expect. You may notice yourself reacting differently in certain situations, feeling overwhelmed by emotions that seem to come out of nowhere, or getting stuck in thoughts you cannot quiet. You might find yourself wondering why you ruminate, why certain people or moments affect you so deeply, or why you act differently in relationships, even when you want things to be better.

These reactions are often linked to attachment experiences from childhood, unresolved past experiences, or even traumatic events later in life. The body and mind hold onto these experiences, and they can surface when we least expect them. Therapy is a space to slow down and understand what is happening, rather than feeling confused or frustrated by it.

I work with children, teens, and adults using an attachment-based and trauma-informed approach that helps clients understand the conflicts that happen inside themselves and within their relationships. Many people experience parts of themselves that want different things at the same time, such as closeness and distance, or feel strong emotions that do not seem to match the situation. Therapy helps make sense of these internal struggles with curiosity rather than judgment.
