Top therapists in Texas accepting new patients
I have a Master of Science degree from Abilene Christian University and a bachelor's degree from McMurry University (Ala Cumba and go WarHawks!). I have lived in Abilene since 2005 and have been a therapist in Texas for over 15 years. I am married, and am a mom of 3 boys and 2 fur babies. I have training in a variety of approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, person-centered, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and others.
Welcome! I am glad you are here! I have a passion for helping people know themselves better and process their lives and concerns. I am comfortable discussing any issue that you might bring up and can aid in helping you achieve a healthier and more fulfilling life.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with years of experience working with clients in a variety of settings. These include inpatient treatment, residential substance abuse treatment, and individual counseling for many life issues and stressors. Some of the problems I assist clients with involve religious trauma, mood disorders, anxiety, family relationships, grief, and addiction. I am honored to help clients understand their patterns of behavior and progress toward their personal goals.
For almost 15 years, I've walked alongside people through some of the hardest moments of their lives — whether that's anxiety that won't quiet down, depression that makes everything feel heavier, the aftermath of trauma, or the strain that pulls relationships apart. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker offering telehealth therapy to adults, couples, and families, and I believe deeply that healing happens in a space where you feel genuinely seen and never judged.
My approach is collaborative and evidence-based — drawing on tools like CBT, DBT, and trauma-focused therapy — but the methods always come second to the relationship. Having worked across hospitals, emergency settings, college campuses, and private practice, I'm comfortable with everything from everyday stress to moments of real crisis.
Reaching out for support takes courage, and you don't have to have it all figured out before we begin. If you're ready to take that first step, I'd be honored to take it with you.
Welcome! My practice is rooted in sharing how our connections to our bodies, nature, and community can support us in the healing process. This knowledge that has been shared with me has illuminated my path and has enriched and expanded my training in traditional western psychology. Throughout my career of over a decade, I have worked in various settings and communities throughout the country. I believe mental health is prevention and community medicine and as such, should be accessible to everyone. With this in mind, I work hard to create a space of inclusivity in my work.
I have experience working with indigenous peoples, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship issues, intergenerational healing, ADHD, burnout, self esteem issues, and spirituality. I am a herbalist and have trained for several years in Traditional Mexican Medicine and have experience working with a textile called the Rebozo to support healing.
I believe therapy works best when you feel safe, seen, and not rushed. I offer a calm, supportive space to help you make sense of what you’re carrying and develop practical tools for moving forward.
I work collaboratively and at your pace, whether you’re navigating anxiety, burnout, life transitions, or past experiences. You don’t have to have everything figured out to start—I’ll walk alongside you as you build clarity, resilience, and a stronger sense of self.
My name is Corey Tolliver, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have worked with various populations and have a diverse background including people with trauma, crisis, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, relationship problems, and fatherhood.
